Liturgy & the Mass
Assigning who says each Mass
Vianney shows who is celebrating each Mass so the week is clear to everyone. By default the Pastor is shown; a Mass can be assigned to a parochial vicar where needed.
Assign a celebrant
- 1. Open Liturgy (or the day's card on Today) and find the Mass.
- 2. The celebrant shows as the Pastor by default. The Pastor can assign a specific Mass to a parochial vicar.
- 3. The assignment shows on the Liturgy view and in the week's celebrant list.
A gentle canon-law nudge
If a priest is shown celebrating more than one Mass in a day, Vianney displays a small c. 905 reminder about how many Masses a priest may offer. It is advisory — it informs, it never blocks.
Tips
- The default-Pastor celebrant is read-only for other staff; only the Pastor changes assignments.
- "Celebrants this week" lists every Mass and who is on it — handy for sacristans and musicians.
- Readings for each day appear nearby; see Readings at a glance.
