Cemetery
Cemetery: what the module covers
The Cemetery module keeps your parish cemetery's spaces, sales, burials, and perpetual-care fund in one place — right alongside the rest of the parish's life, not in a separate program.
The chips
- Spaces — your sections and individual spaces (graves, niches, plots), each with a status and history.
- Map — a schematic or photo-based view of a section so you can see and click a space visually.
- Sales & Rights — selling a space, the rights ledger, transfers, and printable deeds.
- Interments — scheduling and completing a burial or inurnment, permits, and the printable order.
- Requests — the queue of interment requests, including ones a funeral home submits through their own portal.
- Care Fund — the perpetual-care fund: contributions, expenses, and the year report.
- Import — bringing old paper or spreadsheet records into Vianney, row by verified row.
- History — the cemetery's own record of who did what, searchable and filterable by the kind of action. It appears only for Father and the administrator, since it is the governance view.
Who does what, in plain words
- The office records and sells — spaces, sales, transfers on paper, scheduling.
- Father or the deacon approves funeral-home requests and decides eligibility flags (things like a cremation-checklist concern) — this is a direct role check, not something a settings change can widen.
- Father alone records a completed burial in the death register.
- A priest or admin verifies a transfer or backs out a sale.
Tips
- Every cemetery difference — fee amounts, whether the public finder is on, whether ground is blessed — is a setting on that cemetery, not something that needs a code change.
- Start with Selling a plot and Interments and permits — together they cover most day-to-day cemetery work.
