Messaging a class or program
"Email the class" is the most common formation task, so classes and programs are pickable by name in the recipient boxes — Connect's Cc/Bcc and the Cc/Bcc on a Shepherd Notes reply.
Smarter address books
- 1. In Compose, click Cc/Bcc at the end of the To row to fold those boxes open, then type a class or program name ("Grade 2…"). The To row itself searches your Connect groups, the parish records, and your saved lists — classes and programs live in the Cc/Bcc boxes, which is also where Shepherd Notes finds them.
- 2. Pick the group — Vianney resolves the parents of a children's class (never the children), or the members themselves of an adult study.
- 3. Duplicates collapse (two children, one household, one email), and anyone unreachable is listed so nobody is silently dropped.
Same rules as everything else
Groups add addresses; they change nothing about sending. The same compose box, the same single confirm before anything sends, the same sent log. Only staff with access to the Formation module can see or use formation groups.
An optional AI helper can draft the note in your own voice (Settings → AI, off until you enable it) — the draft opens in the same composer and still waits on the one send-time confirm, and a child's registration details (allergies, emergency contacts) can never reach the AI. That's enforced by the software, not a promise.
