Liturgy & the Mass
Linking a liturgy guide to a day
If your parish prepares a worship aid or liturgy guide as a PDF, you can pin it to the day it belongs to. Anyone with Liturgy access then opens it from the day itself, instead of hunting through email.
Link a guide to a day
- 1. Open Liturgy → Look Ahead and click the Sunday or feast.
- 2. At the top right of the day, beside the readings, the small card has two tabs — Notes and Liturgy Guide. Click Liturgy Guide. When nothing is linked it offers Link a guide.
- 3. Choose the PDF, and give it a label — leave it and Vianney names it after the day, for example "Liturgy guide — Second Sunday of Advent (PDF)".
- 4. Click Upload & link. PDFs only, up to 5 MB.
Already uploaded it for another date? Pick it from the or an already-uploaded guide dropdown and click Link selected. The list offers the guides that are not currently pinned anywhere.
One guide per day
A date holds one active guide. Link a second and it takes over: the earlier one is superseded, not deleted, and the whole handover is written to the audit trail. That way a corrected version can go up ten minutes before Mass without anyone worrying about what was lost.
Unlink, or remove
- Unlink from this day takes the guide off the date and leaves the file available to pin somewhere else.
- Remove the file withdraws it altogether. Only the person who uploaded it or the Pastor may do that, and Vianney says so if you try without.
Where it shows
- On the day card in the week grid, as a small ⇗ Liturgy guide (PDF) line.
- On the open day, under the Liturgy Guide tab, with the label, who uploaded it and when, and a Change… link. The tab carries a small 1 while a guide is linked.
- Clicking it opens the PDF in a new tab.
Good to know
- Guides are staff-facing. Nothing here is published to parishioners on its own.
- Changing a guide never touches the day's readings, notes or Masses — see Look Ahead: the Liturgy landing page.
