Engagement
Families we may need to reconnect with
This is the heart of the module: a list of the families whose recorded contact with the parish has gone quiet — envelopes that stopped, a year with no reply, no visit logged. Luke 15, as a working list.
It is a prompt for a phone call or a letter, never a judgment. Each family is shown with the plain evidence that surfaced them and how long it's been.
Where to find it
The list lives on the Reconnect tab in Engagement, under Care & Engagement in the sidebar.
Working the list
- The list is grouped by household and sorted with the longest-quiet families first. You can re-sort — by bounced/unsubscribed, no email on file, household size, and more.
- Open story shows everything on file for that family.
- Draft outreach adds a gentle reminder to Today, where you write and approve a note.
- Send with Communications hands the whole list to Comms to write to — the message is still reviewed and approved by a person before anything goes out.
Honest about what it can't see
- A family that worships at a sister parish in your pastorate can look quiet here — Vianney can't see another parish's records. This is noted right on the screen.
- On a brand-new install, there isn't enough history yet to judge who's drifting, so the list holds back and says so rather than declaring the whole parish lost on day one.
- A family who gives electronically is no longer flagged for that alone. Since 20 August 2026 a recent bank-transfer or card gift counts as a signal that the household is still here, so faithful e-givers stop appearing on this list. It is not a claim that they were at Mass — only that their steady support is no longer mistaken for silence.
The hope line
When a quiet family is touched again — a letter, a visit, a reply — they move to the Recently Reconnected tab, which keeps its own quiet list of the families who have come back. That's the whole point of the list.
