Sending birthday and anniversary greetings
Each morning, the Messages feed gathers the parishioners with a birthday or wedding anniversary and offers a ready-to-edit greeting for each. It only includes living parishioners who have agreed to be contacted and who have not already received one this year.
Send a greeting
- 1. Open the Messages tab. Birthday and anniversary cards appear in the feed (use the Pending / Sent toggle and sort chips to find them).
- 2. Click a card to expand it. Read the draft — it is signed in the priest's name and you can edit it freely.
- 3. Choose a channel — email, text, or call — from the dropdown.
- 4. Click Send and confirm. The greeting goes immediately and moves to your Sent list.
AI draft and voice dictation
Click ✨ Draft to have Vianney rewrite the message, or use the microphone to dictate your own wording. If your parish has switched off Personal message drafts in Settings → AI add-on, the ✨ Draft button doesn't appear — the greeting still arrives ready to edit, you just write it yourself; voice dictation still works either way.
Anniversaries and spouses
For a wedding anniversary, the greeting can also go to the spouse — but only if the spouse is recorded and has agreed to be contacted. Each person gets their own message.
Tips
- Today shows a preview of the day's greetings; click Open in Messages → on any card there to jump straight to it.
- Greetings only appear for people with contact consent — this keeps the parish respectful of who wants to hear from you.
- Consent is rechecked at the moment you click Send, not just when the card was generated. If someone has opted out in between, Vianney quietly skips them — no email, no record — rather than showing an error.
- How far ahead the feed looks is set by Settings → Notifications → Days to look ahead (admin).
