Mass intentions
Approving or denying intention requests
Online intention requests wait in a queue until the office acts. Approving one books the Mass; denying it frees the slot.
Work the queue
- 1. Open Liturgy → Intentions and click the Requests chip — the number still waiting shows on the chip itself.
- 2. Open a request to see the intention, the date and time, and the requester's details.
- 3. Choose:
- Approve — books the Mass (pending becomes scheduled). You may search and link the requester to a parishioner record, or leave it unlinked.
- Deny — frees the slot immediately.
- 4. Follow up with the requester by email if you wish, from Connect.
What the requester was offered
The public calendar shows the Masses your parish will actually celebrate — a published schedule where you have one, your standard times everywhere else. It is the same reading the office sees, so a request never arrives for a Mass that is not happening.
Tips
- Identity is never assumed — when you approve, you choose whether and to whom to link the request.
- A held slot (pending or scheduled) is not offered to anyone else, so there is no risk of a double booking while you decide.
- The booking cap in Settings keeps requests within the year the law expects.
