Liturgy & the Mass
Day notes on Look Ahead
Every day in Look Ahead carries a shared notes thread — the sacristy pad, kept where the day is. The organist is away, the school Mass is coming in at 9:15, the flowers arrive Friday: write it on the day and the whole office sees it.
Add a note
- 1. Open Liturgy → Look Ahead and click the day.
- 2. At the top right of the day, beside the readings, sits a small card with two tabs — Notes and Liturgy Guide. Stay on Notes; the tab carries the day's note count beside its name.
- 3. Type into the box at the foot of the column and click Add note. The button stays greyed until there is something to save.
- 4. Your note appears at once, stamped with your name, your role, and the date and time.
Change or take back a note
- Your own notes carry an Edit link. Editing keeps the original time and adds a small · edited marker, so the thread stays honest.
- Remove takes a note off the day. You may remove your own; the Pastor may remove anyone's.
- A removed note is hidden, not destroyed — it leaves the day but stays in the audit trail. Vianney says so on the confirm before you remove anything.
Who sees them
Notes are visible to everyone with Liturgy access — this is the office's shared pad, not a private message. Nothing under the composer spells the rules out; the notes themselves do. Edit appears only on a note you wrote, and Remove only where you may use it — your own if you are staff, anyone's if you are the Pastor.
Good to know
- The day card in the week grid shows a small ✎ 3 notes line, and each row in the day rail shows the count, so a day with something to say looks different at a glance.
- When there are more notes than fit, the column scrolls and a ▾ more notes cue appears at the bottom until you reach the end.
- Notes are for the office. Nothing here reaches a parishioner, and nothing confession-adjacent belongs in them.
- Every add, edit and removal is written to the audit trail.
