Funeral arrangements: home, director, and cemetery
The Arrangements section of a funeral case holds the practical logistics — who is handling the body, where burial will be, and the day's schedule.
Fill in the arrangements
- 1. Open the funeral case and open the Info pane — Arrangements is a section partway down, below Dates.
- 2. Choose the Funeral Home; the Director and their contact fill in from there.
- 3. Pick the Cemetery.
- 4. Set the planning meeting date and time in the Dates section of the same Info pane, and the service schedule (times and what happens) in the Liturgy pane.
Where the funeral homes come from
The funeral-home list is shared across parishes and kept current centrally, so you pick from a real directory rather than retyping details each time.
Interment
If your parish uses the Cemetery module and you have access to it, the case also gets an Interment tab. If the deceased is linked to a person record and already holds a right of interment, it shows as "Plot on record" with a one-click Schedule interment button that sends you straight into the Cemetery module ready to go; once an interment is scheduled or completed for this case, the tab shows that instead. Without a person link (or without a right on file), the tab offers a quiet link into the Cemetery module instead. The tab is simply absent for staff without Cemetery access.
Tips
- The arrangements you set here are exactly what a funeral director sees in their portal, keeping both sides in step.
- When your parish's practice is to cancel the daily Mass on a funeral day, open the case's Liturgy pane and press Move that day's intentions. Vianney moves each booked intention to the next open Mass and writes you a warm note for each requester to review and send — it never sends on its own. If your practice is to keep the Mass, Vianney tells you plainly that there is nothing to move.
- See Interments and permits for what happens after you click Schedule interment.
