Funerals
Opening a funeral case
A funeral case carries everything for one death — from the first call through the funeral Mass and aftercare — in one place, so nothing is dropped at a hard time.
Open a case
- 1. Open the Funerals tab and choose New Funeral.
- 2. Search the directory for the deceased, or type a name if they are not on file.
- 3. Add the date of death (if known) and Notified by (funeral home, family, or other).
- 4. In a multi-site parish, choose the church.
- 5. Click Open the case. It starts at the Death stage.
Inside the case
The case opens with chip-panes for Info, Liturgy, Planning Form, and Notes, with the Stage pinned at the top so you always know where things stand. Info holds the dates, the arrangements (funeral home, director, cemetery), and next of kin; Liturgy holds the service schedule, musicians, the checklist, the death register, and the funeral notice. If your parish uses the Cemetery module and you have access to it, an Interment chip-pane also appears — its content adapts once the deceased is linked to a person record.
Tips
- You do not need every detail to start — open the case and fill it in as things unfold.
- Next: move through the stages and checklist and set the arrangements.
