Liturgy & the Mass
The This Week view
This week's messages lays out the coming seven days as one working list — the birthdays and anniversaries to greet, with the Masses and funerals around them for context. It is still here and still does the same job; what changed is where you find it.
Where it is now
It is not a tab under Liturgy any more. Liturgy's old Today / This week / This weekend / Calendar tabs were retired once everything they showed was folded into Look Ahead, which is the one forward view of the altar now.
- 1. Open Home.
- 2. In the band of at-a-glance numbers, click Coming up this week — *birthdays & anniversaries, next 7 days*.
- 3. That is this screen. You can also bookmark it: it lives at #week on the end of your parish's address, and Back returns you to Home.
If you only want the liturgical week — Masses, celebrants, readings, ministers — go to Liturgy instead, or use the week strip of day cards on Home. This screen is the pastoral-outreach half of the week.
What the week shows
- A counts row across the top: Masses, Open slots (Masses with no intention booked), Funerals, Birthdays, Anniversaries — for the seven days on screen.
- One collapsed card per day, in date order; a day with nothing on it is left out entirely. Click a day's heading to open it.
- Inside a day: each Mass with its time, its intention (or *open slot*), and the ministers assigned from any published schedule, grouped by ministry — click a minister's name to open them.
- Funerals with a date or a planning meeting that day.
- A card for each birthday and wedding anniversary, ready to greet.
Move through the weeks and narrow the view
- ‹ Prev week and Next week › step seven days at a time; This week returns to today.
- Chips filter to All, Birthdays or Anniversaries. Choosing one of the milestone filters hides the Mass and funeral context lines so the greetings stand alone.
- Once you have worked some cards, Show sent and Show skipped chips appear so you can look back over what you have already handled.
- In a multi-site parish a Site chip row lets you narrow the Masses to one church.
Greeting someone from here
- 1. Open the day and find the card. It arrives with a draft already written.
- 2. Edit the wording, and pick Email, Text or Call list — the contact shown beside the picker follows the channel you choose.
- 3. Press ✨ Draft if you would like the AI to rewrite it for that person; press it again to undo and get your text back.
- 4. Press Send. It goes at once and the card dissolves into a Queued ✓ chip. Skip does the same with a *skipped* chip and sends nothing.
Tips
- Ministers appear only from published schedules — see Checking and publishing a schedule.
- These are the same greetings you can send from Messages, with the same drafts and the same one-click send; this screen just shows you a week of them at once instead of today's.
- An anniversary greeting reaches both spouses where the parish has contact details for each, and an opt-out is always honored.
- If a parish has switched off Personal message drafts in Settings → AI add-on, the ✨ Draft button doesn't appear here either — you can still type the greeting yourself.
- An administrator can hide the whole screen with the This week switch in Settings → Modules.
